Jack O’Connor poised for Kerry U21 return

O’Connor has managed the U21s before and Kerry officials are not expecting late hitches.
O’Connor will continue in his role as manager of the Kerry minor side, until they exit this year’s Championship, and then the search for a replacement will start.
Early possibilities include former Dr Crokes boss, John Galvin, who was part of Jack’s management team last year; Peter Keane, who was involved with Mikey Ned O’Sullivan, just before O’Connor’s current term; and former Kerry defender and midfielder, Tommy Griffin, from Dingle, who trained Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne, along with Eamonn Fitzmaurice, to back-to-back Hogan Cup successes.
Meanwhile, favourites Austin Stacks and Dr Crokes have been paired together in round 3 of the Kerry SFC.
(1) Bye – Mid Kerry v West Kerry (Losers’ round game not played), (2) Dingle v South Kerry, (3) Kilcummin v St Kieran’s, (4) Dr Crokes v Austin Stacks, (5) Legion v Feale Rangers, (6) Kenmare v Laune Rangers, (7) Shannon Rangers v Rathmore, (8) Milltown/Castlemaine or Kerins O’Rahillys v East Kerry.
The games will be played on weekend of July 11-12.
