GAA chiefs have revealed that a heavy grass seeding programme has resulted in the increased presence of pigeons in Croke Park in recent weeks.

Flocks of the birds were flying around the pitch at GAA Headquarters on Sunday for the Division One and Two league finals and were also noticeable in the top flight semi-finals a fortnight earlier.

But officials don’t expect the birds to be as prevalent when the season swings towards the Leinster Championships.
