Kevin Conlan, Alan McLoughlin, Paddy McGowan, James McGrail, Ronan Kennedy, Shane Moran, Gary Reynolds, Sean McWeeney all scored for Leitrim to give the home side a 0-12 to 0-3 halftime lead.

Waterford, for whom J. J. Hutchinson converted six frees with Mark Ferncombe pointing from play, outscored Leitrim by 0-7 to 0-3 in the second half.
