Blackrock’s David Cashman lit up their RedFM SHL clash with St Finbarr’s on Saturday as the Rockies engineered a 16-point victory in Togher.

Cashman top-scored, registering 1-7 (0-5 frees) as the Rockies prevailed, 3-18 to 1-8.

Blackrock plundered three first-half goals courtesy of Olan Kelleher, scorer of 1-2 overall, Cashman and Patrick Deasy, as they led 3-7 to 0-5 at half-time.

Additionally, Shane O’Keeffe contributed 0-3 for the victors.

Eoin Maher raised the Barr’s’ green flag in the second half while Eoin Finn slotted over three frees and Enda Dennehy also produced a noteworthy display, capped by two points.

O’Donovan Rossa posted a 1-11 to 1-8 win over Ilen Rovers in the Rochestown Park Hotel Division 1 FL yesterday. With a gale-force wind at their backs in the first half, Skibbereen held a 1-8 to 1-2 interval advantage.

Centre-forward Shane Crowley fisted O’Donovan Rossa’s goal while Rob Long drilled over 0-3 from wing-forward in the opening period.

Youngster Seán Fitzgerald also made an impact as a second-half substitute for Skibb, hitting two points.

Alan Tanner, Mark Collins and Paudie Crowley also excelled for Skibb.

Meanwhile, Seán O’Donovan hit 1-1 for Ilen and Kevin O’Sullivan, Dan MacEoin and Danny O’Donovan also made scoring contributions for Johnny Holland’s men.

John Cottrell was particularly impressive as Valley Rovers defeated Newcestown 0-10 to 0-5.

Cottrell scored 0-5 from play and his efforts were supplemented by Fiachra Lynch, who registered 0-2, with Darragh Crowley also to the fore.

Carthach Keane was excellent for Newcestown.
