It was a frenetic opening period with two goals and a red card inside the first nine minutes. The ball was in the Antrim net after 45 seconds when a Lorcan Mulvey free took a wicked deflection, and goalkeeper Chris Kerr could only deflect it into the path of Alan O’Hara, who fired home.
Antrim responded quickly with a fine Owen Gallagher point and then CJ McGourty saw his free come back off the upright and fall into the arms of Tomas McCann who was pulled to the ground by Martin Carroll. McGourty planted the penalty firmly to the net.
However, the hosts were reduced to 14 men when Conor Burke needlessly kicked out at Paraic McGoldrick after he had fouled the London forward. There was never more than two points between the sides until the closing stages when London began to lose their discipline. Black cards for London midfield duo Cathal Óg Greene and Mark Gottsche allowed Antrim to pull away in the last 10 minutes and hold on for two points.
