The Westmeath man is the ref for the Cats’ visit to Pearse Stadium where he will face the All-Ireland winning manager who slammed his decision to award Tipperary a late free in the drawn All-Ireland final last September. As a result of the interview the day after Kilkenny’s replay victory, the Central Competitions Control Committee proposed Cody face a misconduct charge but the sanction was quashed when he pursued it with the Central Appeals Committee.

He was warned about his future conduct in media interviews.
