Barry Kelly back for Kilkenny game

On Sunday, Barry Kelly takes charge of a Kilkenny game for the first time since Brian Cody’s "criminal" comments about him.

The Westmeath man is the ref for the Cats’ visit to Pearse Stadium where he will face the All-Ireland winning manager who slammed his decision to award Tipperary a late free in the drawn All-Ireland final last September. As a result of the interview the day after Kilkenny’s replay victory, the Central Competitions Control Committee proposed Cody face a misconduct charge but the sanction was quashed when he pursued it with the Central Appeals Committee.

He was warned about his future conduct in media interviews.
