Cuthbert hails O’Neill’s eye for goal after double blast

Cuthbert felt the game was moving away from Cork before O’Neill found the net in the 42nd minute to cut the gap to one. When he goaled again 12 minutes later it was to level the game. On top of that, it was his point that proved the difference ultimately. And yet his marker Ryan Wylie had the beating of him for a lot of 50-50 balls earlier in the game.

“To be fair, I thought Ryan Wylie was doing very well on him to hold him out and he took the ball off him a few times,” acknowledged Cuthbert, “but the class Colm has he was quiet in the first half and then he exploded. Once he gets a sniff there’s no better player in the country to take a goal.”
