Powerful St Peter’s ease to semi-finals
The Wexford side started slowly against the wind and conceded three unanswered points in the opening seven minutes as freetakers James Bergin and Conor Delaney were on target.
But St. Peter’s then upped the gears with Joe O’Connor and freetaker Billy Dunne, son of Wexford manager, Liam, firing them to a 0-6 to 0-3 interval lead.
O’Connor and Dunne extended that advantage on the restart and despite the best efforts of Delaney, there was no way back for Castlecomer.
The game’s only goal arrived in the 57th minute when Dunne’s long range free found the net.
Meanwhile in the day’s other quarter-final Borris VS defeated Colaiste Eoin by three points (0-12 to 0-9).
