Tommy Walsh all set to spring into action

With injuries ruling out a number of key players, Eamonn Fitzmaurice and his selectors have picked just six of the side which began the All-Ireland final against Donegal.
Half-backs Fionn Fitzgerald and Paul Murphy, midfielder David Moran — who captains the side in Kieran Donaghy’s absence — number 12 Johnny Buckley and inside attackers Stephen O’Brien and Paul Geaney are the survivors from that game.
Shane Enright, Bryan Sheehan, Michael Geaney and Barry John Keane, who all came off the bench in the final, are named at left corner-back, midfield, right half-forward and left corner-forward, respectively.
The Cork football side for their opening game against Dublin in Páirc Uí Rinn, which also has a 2pm throw-in, features 11 of the 15 which began the All-Ireland quarter-final loss to Mayo last August.
Tomás Clancy of Fermoy forms a new full-back line with his namesake from Clonakilty and James Loughrey, while Jamie O’Sullivan is named at right half-back with Eoin Cadogan at number six and Brian O’Driscoll on the other wing. Ian Maguire makes his league debut at midfield alongside Fintan Goold.
Donncha O’Connor, who came off the bench against Mayo to score 1-2, is selected at centre-forward and is flanked by Mark Collins and Colm O’Driscoll. In the inside line, Donal Óg Hodnett links up with Brian Hurley and Colm O’Neill.
The returning Michael Cussen is among the subs, while Paul Kerrigan is also named as a replacement.
Meanwhile, there are two changes in personnel on the Cork hurling team for the Waterford Crystal Cup final against Limerick in Mallow tomorrow night (7pm). In defence, William Kearney replaces his Sarsfields’ clubmate Conor O’Sullivan at corner-back, while Paul Haughney is an indirect replacement for Peter Kelleher. Midleton man Haughney is selected at midfield alongside Andy Walsh, with Brian Murray moving from there to number 10, where Kelleher played last week against Clare.
