Sligo students rue missed opportunities
Sligo IT missed two late chances to win this contest at Ballyhaunis yesterday. Sligo points from Donegal county star Ryan McHugh and Stuart Johnson saw them two ahead after the first quarter.
In a tight first half, NUIG scored three late points from Niall Lee, Cian Connolly and Christopher Davey to leave the sides level at half-time.
Both sides traded points before Peader O Griofa put the Galway students ahead with a minute left. Cian Clinton levelled with a free for Sligo but hit two further wides before the final whistle.
