Weather hits Dr McKenna Cup fixtures

Ulster Council chiefs aim to complete the Bank of Ireland Dr McKenna Cup on schedule despite the postponement of four group stage fixtures last night.

Cavan v Monaghan, Derry v Queen’s, Donegal v Fermanagh and Tyrone v Antrim were all called off early yesterday due to heavy snow in the northern part of the country.

The section A clash between Down and Ulster University went ahead at Pairc Esler, as did the game at the Athletic Grounds between Armagh and St. Mary’s.
