The repercussions of implementing the entire club season into the calendar year will this week be outlined in "one of the most far-reaching reports ever produced in the organisation", GAA president Liam O’Neill has revealed.

Proposals by a workgroup involving O’Neill, director general Páraic Duffy and GPA chairman Dónal Óg Cusack to run off the All-Ireland club championships in the calendar year will be discussed by Central Council later this week. The chief recommendation is expected to centre on the rescheduling of a number of inter-county competitions.

O’Neill, speaking at the Games Development Conference at Croke Park on Saturday morning, urged grassroot members to support the proposal to return club players centre stage.
