Cork: Páirc Uí Chaoimh staff are moving

The wrecking balls won’t be demolishing the old Páirc Ui Chaoimh for a few weeks yet, but Cork GAA is proceeding with plans to extract itself from the old bowl by setting up headquarters elsewhere in the city.

Irish Examiner writer 'Hawkeye' was down the Marina for a swift 5k jog during the week and heard in the bushes demolition work will begin in the second week of February, followed by piling before the actual reconstruction kicks off in the summer. However the Board’s permanent staff have already secured new office space close by on the Monaghan Road where affairs will be conducted for the next couple of years. Will county board meetings be held there too? Apparently not — agreement has been reached with the Nemo Rangers club HQ on the South Douglas Road.
