DCU prove way too good for experimental Longford

DCU looked impressive when defeating an experimental Longford side on Saturday.

Enda Smith grabbed their opening goal following a pass from his brother Donie in the 9th minute. The students held a six point lead by the 15th minute before Rory Connor began the Longford fightback. With Francie McGee and Diarmuid Masterson influential the hosts had narrowed the gap to two at the break. Longford squandered a number of chances on the restart and DCU quickly made their mark with substitute Conor McGraynor scoring a second goal before Donie Smith restored the college side’s six point advantage. Two more subs made an impact in the latter stages with Evan Keane getting his side’s third goal and Conor McHugh hitting over two late points.
