Tyrone defender Conor Clarke could make a dramatic return to action for Omagh in Sunday’s Ulster club final — just six months after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Clarke was ruled out of Tyrone’s championship campaign after sustaining the injury during St Enda’s opening SFC clash against Coalisland at the end of May.

He subsequently missed the club’s first Tyrone title success since 1988 and was expected to be ruled out until the New Year. However the 22-year-old could now be sprung from the bench in Sunday’s Ulster final against Derry champions Slaughtneil in the Athletic Grounds after making a speedy recovery.
