Mark Landers was last night confirmed as the new coach of the Cork senior hurling team.

The captain of the 1999 All-Ireland SHC-winning side, who coached the county’s minor side this year, has been appointed by Jimmy Barry-Murphy to replace Kieran Kingston, who departed from his role last month due to work commitments.

Landers has also previously managed his native club Killeagh and had been involved with this year’s minors for three years at development-squad level. During that period, the side won the Teddy Hanley Carrigdhoun U15 Tournament and Eugene Carey U17 Tournament.
