Hogan brothers inspire Danesfort

Kilkenny SHC: Champions Clara and St Martin’s (Muckalee) won through to the Kilkenny senior hurling semi-finals, but the remaining two places are still wide open.

Danesfort snatched the last place in the quarter-finals yesterday when the Hogan brothers, Richie and Paddy, inspired them to a 1-13 to 0-11 win over Tullaroan in a replayed first round/relegation semi-final clash.

The winners led by 1-9 to 0-10 at half-time after trailing by 0-4 to 0-7 at one stage. A 26th minute goal from possible Hurler of the Year, Richie Hogan inspired a fight back, and with a quick point from his brother, Paddy, the winners found a new gear and never looked back.
