Ballincollig in safe hands with ‘Scotty’

Should Ballincollig make history by winning a first Cork SFC title on Sunday afternoon, goalkeeper David Lordan will be the man with the honour of lifting the Andy Scannell Cup.

The 28-year-old admits he wasn’t expecting Michael O’Brien to make him skipper, but it certainly boosted his spirits back at the start of the year when he was unable to play through injury.

“You’re always surprised,” he says.
