Clare dominate U21 team of the year

Seven Clare hurlers have been selected on the Bord Gáis U21 team of the year, with Seadna Morey, Tony Kelly and Colm Galvin honoured for a second year in succession.

The Banner are represented in every line of the field, with Conor Cleary and Jamie Shanahan selected at centre-back and left half-back respectively. Eoin Enright joins Galvin at midfield, Aaron Cunningham garnering the left corner-forwardposition. Defeated finalists Wexford are represented through senior quartetAndrew Kenny, Liam Ryan, Jack Guiney and Conor McDonald. Oliver O’Leary completes their involvement, getting the nod in goal.

Tipperary’s Jason Forde is selected in the full-forward line for the second year in a row.

Cathal Barrett is chosen at corner-back and Galway’s PádraigBrehony is their sole recipient, decided on at left half-forward following his 1-6 contribution in the county’s semi-final defeat to Wexford. The team of the year ceremony takes place this Saturday.

The player of the year award will also be unveiled on the night — Colm Galvin, Aaron Cunningham and Conor McDonald are the nominated trio.
