Watch your house, warns fearful Donegal councillor

A Donegal councillor believes the county will be targeted by criminals during the All-Ireland final weekend due to the high numbers planning to travel to Dublin.

Watch your house, warns fearful Donegal councillor

With an expected 30,000 people leaving the county for the September 21 game against Kerry, Cllr. Paul Calling from Manorcunningham believes criminal elements will target empty homes unless neighbours keep a close eye out for disturbances.

“I’m appealing to the people, coming into the dark evenings, to be more vigilant,” he said.

“Given the fact that next weekend we’ll be all off to Dublin, I’m appealing to the people left behind to look out for their properties. Criminals will be well aware of the Donegal match and know people will be away for the full day, so there will be ample opportunity for them.”
