McNicholas unhappy at Cork’s ‘streetwise’ jibe
Meathâs Cormac Reilly has been handed the whistle for Sundayâs All-Ireland SFC quarter-final, with Cork manager Brian Cuthbert this week calling for a strong referee to police an âextremely streetwiseâ Mayo outfit. Cork selector Ronan McCarthy has added fuel to the fire, branding the Mayo forwards as experts in âtactical foulingâ.
But the Mayo chairman last night rejected the comments, insisting there has never been a cynical element to Mayoâs style of play, particularly during James Horanâs term.
