A week to decide — Lacey reveals Jim’s ultimatum

Jim McGuinness gave Donegal players one week to decide whether to commit to the county this season, Karl Lacey has revealed.

The 2012 All-Ireland winning manager made the ultimatum to last year’s panel shortly after the heavy All-Ireland quarter-final loss to Mayo.

Lacey, who described this season as “one last massive push”, said McGuinness, in his fourth and possibly final season as boss, was going to move on and it was a question of whether the players were going to join him.
