Cork dual star Damien Cahalane is a doubt for Sunday’s Munster hurling final after picking up a freak dressing room injury following the provincial football final.

The 22-year-old suffered a large gash to his heel when he stepped on a medicinal vial in the shower following the defeat to Kerry in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

It is understood the vial was used in the treatment of Cahalane’s team-mate Ruairi Deane who suffered a suspected cruciate injury in the short period he played as a first half blood substitute for Fintan Goold.
