Holders Haven face Rangers test
The Haven, comfortable winners over St Vincent’s in the first round, received one of the toughest draws possible (last year’s semi-finalists were seeded) against the Rosscarbery side. Rangers were semi-finalists in 2010, ’11 and ’12, losing to the Haven on the latter two occasions.
Last year’s beaten finalists Nemo Rangers will meet Ilen Rovers, with the city derby of Bishopstown and St Finbarr’s another stand-out tie, while divisional side Carbery meet Ballincollig.
At premier intermediate level, last year’s beaten finalists Macroom face Carrigaline while one contender for the title will be eliminated as St Michael’s and Bantry Blues do battle.
The senior and premier intermediate hurling draws were unable to take place as the second rounds of both competitions have been held up due to inter-county commitments.
