Briggs: Carew must stay

The Kildare native is set to contemplate his future over the coming week as his two-year term expired without achieving a championship win. Briggs is keen for Carew to stay put and says the players must accept the blame.
“The players should be begging the man to stay. He is a top quality manager,” he said. “Results haven’t been what we’d have wanted as players but we must shoulder a huge amount of responsibility. I wouldn’t blame management. They put in a very professional set-up, everything is put in place for us. There’s only one place you can look and that’s in the mirror.”
