Galway starlet Walsh out to end Mayo reign

Galway football sensation, Shane Walsh, is hoping for revenge against Mayo in the Connacht final, after they ruined his championship debut last year.

Walsh was drafted in during the first half in a bid to stem Mayo’s flow on a day when the Tribesmen slumped to a 17-point hammering at Pearse Stadium.

The 21-year-old tried to put that nightmare debut behind him, and a player who has followed the same career path through St Jarlath’s College in Tuam as Padraic Joyce and Michael Donnellan, is lighting up the championship with a 1-12 haul from two games.
