Kevin Lynch’s make history

Feile na nGael: Local side Kevin Lynch’s from Dungiven became the first team from Ulster to take Bus Éireann Division 1 Hurling Féile na nGael honours after yesterday’s final action at Owenbeg.

Kevin Lynch’s make history

The Dungiven outfit bounced back from a two-point interval deficit to win 0-11 to 1-4, holding Dunloy to just one point in the second-half to claim the Christy Ring Trophy. Tiernan McHugh was one of Lynch’s inspiring stars on the way to his third All-Ireland Féile medal and, incredibly, the Drumsurn native is eligible again next year.

Lynch’s bagged six unanswered points on the restart, with Sean Elliott replying for Dunloy, but the Derry side held their nerve with Richard Mullan sealing the win with a late-point.
