Páirc Uí Chaoimh will be confirmed as the venue for the Munster senior hurling final early next week, a source close to the Cork County Board revealed last night.

Health and safety officer Michael Slattery visited the Ballintemple grounds yesterday, where he was briefed by Cork secretary Frank Murphy and Munster CEO Simon Moroney, to rubberstamp the venue’s capability in hosting the provincial final on July 13.

A number of issues were thrashed out by the three men regarding the grounds suitability to stage the Munster decider.
