New penalty clause will force free-takers to retreat
Central Council are today expected to endorse the GAA’s management committee’s call for penalties and 20 metre frees to be taken before or on the 20m line, therefore abolishing the style espoused by the likes of Anthony Nash and TJ Reid.
However, there will be no repeat of Waterford goalkeeper Stephen O’Keeffe’s (pictured)heroics either as the three defending players will be restricted to the goal-line for penalties.
