O’Neill: We knew we had to step up

Cork defender Shane O’Neill says he and his team-mates realised they were "relying on last year a bit much" and had to up their performances for this season.

“There was plenty of, I wouldn’t say harsh words, but plenty of truths told. And I think we knew coming into today’s game that we needed to up our performance, not alone our workrate.

“We had some terrific performances last year and I think there was some of us, myself included, we were kind of relying on last year a bit much.
