Déise seeking Croker help

Waterford manager Niall Carew wants the GAA to intervene and assist weaker football counties financially to help develop as many players as possible at inter-county level.

“We would like Croke Park to step in and finance the likes of Waterford for a better budget,” he said.

“We’d always have a small panel because our budget isn’t as big as other counties. We also have the smallest backroom team in the country in terms of what other counties have and again that is down to finances.
