The Johnstownbridge star took a leave of absence from Port Adelaide in March to return home to spend time with his sick grandfather.

There were hopes he would turn his back on the AFL and return to the county fold, however, Flynn quickly realised his Australian opportunity was too good to ignore. The 20-year-old returned to Adelaide last month with a fresh perspective and a new hunger to have a crack at life as a professional sportsman and has impressed for the Port Adelaide reserves.
