Hinphey secures cup win for Derry

The hosts settled quicker at Owenbeg and were the better side in the opening 40 minutes, leading 1-9 to 1-4 at half-time. Derry, for whom Ruairi Convery hit 0-10, seemed comfortable until James Coyle goaled as Down refused to surrender. Hinphey had the last say though.
