Antrim move a step closer

They got off to a great start when PJ O’Connell took a simple pass from Ciarán Clarke to find the net. Carlow fought back with some great points, notably, from Jack and Shane Kavanagh but Antrim led 1-11 to 0-12 at the interval. It was nip and tuck in the second-half and while Paul Shiels was the Antrim ace, he was one of the main play-makers drawing a number of frees on himself.
Essentially, Carlow needed a goal to get back into the contest in earnest but they never really looked like scoring one.
