Impressive 20,452 crowd at semi-finals

It appeared bigger both in person and on TV but a still impressive crowd of 20,452 was recorded for yesterday’s Division 1 semi-finals in the Gaelic Grounds.

The attendance was over 6,000 better than the 14,210 figure for last year’s last four games in Semple Stadium when Kilkenny-Galway was preceded by Tipperary-Dublin.

Yesterday’s number also beat the 2012 figure in Thurles. A 15,424 crowd watched Kilkenny-Clare and Cork-Tipperary.
