Diarmuid ‘a great man to have in arsenal’

St Vincents captain Ger Brennan wasn’t surprised by his club-mate and fellow Dublin player Diarmuid Connolly’s awesome 60-plus minutes in Croke Park.

Without doubt, it was the former dual player’s best game at GAA HQ, although Brennan always knew it was within his capability to dominate a game like he did yesterday.

“I think we’ve seen performances from him like that before. In 2011 in the All-Ireland quarter-final against Tyrone, he kicked points from all over the park. I think he has the ability to do that.
