No Cork objection to new blitz-style Féile na nGael format
Féile will be held in Ulster this year and next year, and as there are not sufficient local sides to compete in Division One, it was decided to proceed without it and instead run blitz-style events for top-level counties at other venues.
Following Central Council meetings last weekend, it was accepted this plan will remain in place, with the Christy Ring Trophy to played for by teams in Ulster. At last night’s Cork County Board meeting, youth officer Marc Sheehan decried the “denigration” of Féile and the Christy Ring Trophy as a “farcical situation”.
