Former Tipperary All-Ireland SHC medallist Colm Bonnar has stepped down as manager of Waterford giants Ballygunner – just weeks after he was appointed the club’s new boss.

Bonnar, a former Wexford manager and ex-selector with Tipperary and Waterford, was ratified as new Ballygunner supremo at the club’s AGM, which was held shortly before Christmas.

Bonnar agreed to take over the reins from fellow Tipperary native and ex-Waterford player Andy Moloney, a former Ballygunner club hurler who had managed the team for the last two seasons.
