Ryan set to stay as Rebels boss

Cork’s All-Ireland winning football manager Eamonn Ryan is expected to commit to another year.

Ryan set to stay as Rebels boss

Ryan guided the Rebels to an eighth All-Ireland crown in September, but was non-committal on his future when contacted by the Irish Examiner before Christmas.

It is now believed that the Watergrasshill native will extend his tenure into an 11th season and his position is set to be ratified at tonight’s Convention.

It remains to be seen, however, if Ryan’s backroom team of Justin McCarthy, James O’Callaghan, Frankie Honohan and Bridget O’Brien will return for another campaign. Speculation also surrounds the future of wing-forward Nollaig Cleary who retired for a spell last year before returning to the fold for the latter stages of the league.
