Kerry introduce newcomers for clash with IT Tralee

There are just four survivors from last year’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat by Dublin in the Kerry side to face IT Tralee in the McGrath Cup tomorrow.

Donnchadh Walsh, Mark Griffin, Shane Enright and Anthony Maher are all selected by Eamonn Fitzmaurice but otherwise it is a fairly experimental side, with corner-back Paul Murphy of Rathmore and Austin Stacks’ Shane O’Callaghan among the newcomers.

In addition, David Moran partners Maher at midfield, having recovered from an eye injury sustained in May. With 2014 captain Colm Cooper not involved for the competition, Walsh skippers the side. The game will take place at John Mitchels’ ground, having been originally scheduled for Austin Stack Park.
