Council explain Ennis final decision

The consent of respective Munster Club finalists Sixmilebridge and Na Piarsaigh was not required in the decision to award home advantage for Sunday’s Munster decider.

Cusack Park, Ennis and the Gaelic Grounds were the two venues put forward to host the fixture, with the later receiving the nod by virtue of a coin toss.

No team has enjoyed home advantage on Munster Club hurling final day since 2004, with Munster Council PRO Ed Donnelly asserting that common sense was applied in opting against a neutral venue.
