Cusack Park, Ennis and the Gaelic Grounds were the two venues put forward to host the fixture, with the later receiving the nod by virtue of a coin toss.

No team has enjoyed home advantage on Munster Club hurling final day since 2004, with Munster Council PRO Ed Donnelly asserting that common sense was applied in opting against a neutral venue.
