And former Galway midfielder and Dublin selector Brian Talty will also form part of that advisory group if, as expected, Mulholland is ratified as manager for the next two years this evening.

Paul Clancy, an All-Ireland medal winner with Galway who was a selector on the victorious U21 side this year, is to step up and be part of Mulholland’s management team. He and U21 manager Alan Flynn will be Mulholland’s selectors, with Donal O Fátharta, a selector for the past two seasons, taking a step back and joining the advisory group which will include Sammon, Talty and Martin Conroy.

Anthony Cunningham’s new hurling selectors Eugene Cloonan and Damien Curley are also expected to be ratified tonight.
