Clare champions banking on goodwill of rivals

The Clare County Board, having failed to resolve the fixtures controversy concerning the five clubs remaining in the county championship, last night submitted a request to Munster Council to have the provincial semi-final involving the Clare winners, scheduled for November 17, put back a week.

A postponement however, will only materialise if the two teams meeting in Sunday’s Munster quarter-final — Dromcollogher/Broadford (Limerick) and Ballinacourty (Waterford) — agree to the change in dates.
