Goals key as Limerick prove too hot for Déise

Limerick captured the Munster U17 football Plate title with a 4-8 to 0-10 win over Waterford at the St Molleran’s grounds yesterday.

The Shannonsiders had already defeated the Déise in the round robin phase and they repeated the dose in the decider.

With wind advantage, they led by 2-4 to 0-2 at half-time.

Two quickfire goals at the start of the second half killed off the contest completely.

Killian Ryan, Darragh Noonan, Fiachra O’Grady and Shane McNamara all starred for the victors. David Looby kicked five points for Waterford side with Conor Murray and Michael Sweeney also impressing for the losers.
