O’Rahillys face Stacks

Kerins O’Rahillys set up a winner-takes-all clash with Austin Stacks in Division 1 of the county league thanks to a 0-12 to 1-9 draw with Killarney Legion on Saturday.

Some fine shooting by Barry John Keane and Barry John Walsh ensured home advantage for the tie while Spa, Killarney Legion and Laune Rangers have all been relegated.

Due to the involvement of Ardfert and Finuge players in yesterday’s hurling final replay, the Division 2 games were put back to November 17. Just two points separate the eight teams.

Glenbeigh/Glencar topped the Division 3 table during a campaign that saw them lose once to Desmonds. Both are promoted along with Listry who gained a form of revenge on their county novice final conquerors, Templenoe. Firies, Beaufort and Cordal are all relegated.

In Division 4, Lispole were already promoted, but were joined on Saturday by county junior champions Keel, who came from behind to relegate St Senan’s while Brosna got the point they needed in a 0-15 to 1-12 draw with Ballyduff. Tuosist, Moyvane and St Senan’s are relegated.

In Division 5, Fossa are champions while Knocknagoshel and Cromane are also promoted. The Walsh brothers, Edmund and James, inspired Knocknagoshel to a 1-9 to 0-9 win over Sneem/Derrynane while Cromane, inspired by another set of Walsh brothers, Donnchadh and Sean, along with Sean B O’Sullivan, proved too strong for Duagh, 1-18 to 3-4.
