In 2008 a late goal against the same opposition deprived them of an historic three-in-a-row but this time nothing was going to stand in their way of a treble.
From the moment Paul Coady flashed over the opening point there was only going to be one winner.
The only goal of the game was typical Rangers. Full-back Garry Doyle changed defence into attack with an accurate clearance. Richard Coady took it on and seconds later Denis Murphy rattled the net. At half-time Rangers led 1-10 to 0-7.
The challengers relied heavily on the Kavanagh brothers, Jack and Marty. They delivered but needed more support. Rangers forced the errors, turned over possession and five of their forwards scored from play.
With the minors taking their title for the second year in-a-row, it was an historic double-double for the Borris club who are determined to make an impact in the Leinster senior club championship.
