Mayo wait on Horan decision

Mayo county chairman Paddy McNicholas does not know if James Horan will be manager next season after a meeting this week failed to resolve the matter.

Horan’s met county board members on Tuesday night, but was still unable to commit to the position for another year.

“James said he will come back to us with an answer soon, but the sooner it is the better to be honest,” said McNicholas.

“We met with James on Tuesday and we are to meet with him again soon and that’s all the news we have on it at the minute. He is to come back to us, but there is no date put on it.

“He hasn’t given us any indication either way as to what he wants to do.”
