Ballinderry repeat hat-trick

The Shamrocks last achieved the feat between 1980 and ’82 and it was matched by the current crop as goals from Darren Lawn, Michael McIver and Daniel McKinless helped them to a six-point win.
It could have been a different story had Ballinascreen captain Benny Heron not missed two penalties, but there is little doubt Derry’s best are champions again.
The key events began before the break when Heron dragged his first penalty attempt wide of the posts.
McKinless bravely fisted to the net on 39 minutes before Heron missed again.
