Slashers storm to title

Slashers started with intent but had to wait until the 7th minute to register the opening score, a Colin Smith pointed free.
Dromard keeper Damien Sheridan denied Marc Diffley a goal in the 9th minute but the loose ball fell to Peter Foy and he made no mistake.
Ronan McEntire, Cian Mimnagh and Jamsie Martin pointed for Dromard but Slashers ended the first half well with two fine points from the impressive Foy and another Smith free to give them a five point lead at the break.
Just 20 seconds after the restart Francie McGee pointed for Dromard. Twice in the early stages of the second half Slashers were four in front but points from Mimnagh and McGee cut the gap to two.
Points were traded between Niall Mulligan and McGee before Colin Smith and David Sheridan put Slashers ahead by four again.
Dromard got a goal in the 55th minute through sub Declan Mimnagh just a minute after Michael Brady’s goal was disallowed for a square ball. Mark Smith bagged Slashers’ final score three minutes from time.
