Ballymartle eventually came through after the two sides swapped nine goals in 80-odd minutes.

Douglas streaked out to a four-point lead in the first seven minutes. The energetic Alan Cadogan (two), Stephen Moylan and a Mark O’Connor free helped them push ahead of Ballymartle, who were slow to get going.
